Nina Nastasia
Nina Nastasia is a singer-songwriter from Hollywood, United States, based in New York City. Her music combines folk with detailed chamber-style arrangements, and her work is associated with chamber folk, folk and indie folk.
She records as a solo artist and works with her band and partner Kennan Gudjonsson. Her listed membership includes Jolie Laide.
Albums and recordings
Nastasia releases six albums across Socialist Records, Touch and Go Records and Fat Cat Records. Her debut album, Dogs, appears in a small initial edition and is later reissued by Touch and Go. The Blackened Air and Run to Ruin also appear on Touch and Go, while On Leaving, You Follow Me and Outlaster are released on Fat Cat.

Broadcast work and recognition
Nastasia is a regular favourite of John Peel and records six sessions for his BBC shows. Her final Peel session includes help from the Tuvan throat-singing group Huun-Huur-Tu. She also contributes the song “Bird of Cuzco” to a tribute compilation for Peel, and two of her songs place in his Festive Fifty: “Ugly Face” and “You, Her & Me”.
Her singles include “What She Doesn’t Know” and “Cry, Cry, Baby”.
