Nils Bech

Nils Bech is a Norwegian musician and performance artist whose work sits between performance art, classical composition and electronica. He is a classically trained singer and places emphasis on the performative side of his practice.

Albums and musical work

Bech releases his debut album, Look Back, on Fysisk Format in 2010. He follows it with Look Inside in 2012. That album is produced by the Norwegian electronic duo Ost&Kjex and includes arrangements by the contemporary composers Ole Henrik Moe and Julian Skar.

He also works across different genres, including modern music with Jan Erik Mikaelsen, electronica with Tore Jazztobak and Even Bekkedal, and pop/jazz with Bendik Giske.

Performance and collaborations

Bech performs at a range of major art and music venues and events, including the 54th Venice Biennale, the New Museum in New York, ICA in London and the Frieze Foundation in London. He also appears at music festivals such as Bylarm, Hovefestivalen, Roskildefestivalen and Øyafestivalen.

Earlier group work

Before his solo work, Bech is the singer in Snuten, a Norwegian group that receives nominations for both the Grammy and the Alarm Prize.
