Night Owl is a name used by two different acts: an independent, unsigned band and a rap/hip-hop artist.

Independent band

The band centres on singer-songwriter Jeanna Lax, who performs vocals, guitar, piano, bass, violin and drums. Other musicians associated with the project include Jon Perrelly on drums, Jon Lax on clarinet, Guillaume Lizotte on cello, and JR Drouillard on vocals, along with various other contributors.

The group’s sound spans electro-blues, folk and punk. In 2009, they record a demo titled Lost in the North, with sessions in New Jersey in the United States and Quebec City in Canada.

Rap/hip-hop artist

A separate act also uses the name Night Owl and works in rap and hip-hop.
