Niamh Ní Charra is an Irish traditional fiddler, concertina player and singer from Killarney, Ireland. Born in 1974, she builds her work around Irish traditional music and performs both as a solo artist and with other acts.
Career
She spends eight years touring with Riverdance as a fiddler before leaving the production at Christmas 2005 to return to Ireland and record an album. She also tours with the Carlos Núñez band while continuing her own performances.
Recordings
Her debut album, Ón Dá Thaobh / From Both Sides, is launched at the Gathering Festival in Killarney and released in Ireland in 2007. It receives strong critical attention and appears in Mojo's Top Ten Folk Albums of that year. Her second album, Súgach Sámh / Happy Out, is released in Ireland in 2010.
