Nelson Can

Nelson Can is a Danish all-female band based in Copenhagen. The group is active from 2011 and works with several self-imposed rules, including one of the most notable: it does not use guitars. Its lineup centres on vocals, drums and bass, creating a sparse, minimal rock sound built around that instrumentation.

The band describes its style as simple and direct, with influences that include the White Stripes, PJ Harvey, Gossip, the Black Keys and Dead Weather. Its setup of drums and bass provides the framework for what is presented as a stripped-back but forceful sound.

Selina Gin handles lead vocals, Maria Juntunen plays drums, and Signe SigneSigne plays bass.
