MYNOLIA
MYNOLIA is a Nashville-based folk singer-songwriter whose work combines melancholy instrumentation with lyrical surrealism. Her music draws melodic influence from traditional folk choirs and eastern flute music, and it is shaped by time spent living in Canada, New Zealand, Berlin in Germany, and a cabin in the remote American South. She spends two years there writing, recording and rebuilding her approach to making music.
Her sound uses field recordings and found instruments, and she teaches herself production techniques during that period. Spiritual themes run through her work, which is described as earthen and serene with occasional cosmic elements, and as a form of mystic folk marked by a Berliner haze and Southern heat.
MYNOLIA’s debut album, All Things Heavy, is released on Bronze Rat Records, a label associated with Seasick Steve and Jon Spencer. The album compiles tracks from her earlier self-released EPs. She is also signed to the UK label Full Time Hobby.
Her single Run Like Hell is part of her later release activity.
