Mud

Mud is a UK glam rock and pop rock group active between 1968 and 1990. The line-up includes Les Gray, Rob Davis, Ray Stiles and Dave Mount. The band is known for mixing glam rock with pop, pop rock and rock, and for being heavily influenced by 1950s rock and roll while also moving into a more mainstream rock style.

Career

The group has fifteen hit singles in the UK, including three that reach number one. Its recordings place it among the better-known British rock acts of the 1970s. The band’s output reflects both its glam rock identity and its older rock and roll roots.

Members and later work

Rob Davis later becomes known as a songwriter for other artists, and writes a number of successful songs for newer performers, including UK number ones for Kylie Minogue and Spiller.
