Moss

Moss is a Dutch rock band from Amsterdam, active from 2003 to the present and released on Excelsior Recordings. The band’s listed members are Bob Gibson, Jasper Verhulst, Koen van de Wardt, Marien Dorleijn, Jelte Heringa, Finn Kruyning, Daniel Rose and Michiel Stam.

Style and development

The group begins as an indie rock band fronted by Marien Dorleijn, with a sound built around rhythmic guitar work and vocal harmonies. Its earlier material is associated with a Fleet Foxes influence, while later work moves towards psychedelia. The group is also tagged with doom metal, drone, sludge, drone doom and funeral doom, although the main description identifies it as a Dutch rock band.
