M.O.R.T.

M.O.R.T. is a Croatian punk-blues and psychedelic punk band from Sinj. The group forms in late summer 2003, with John, Zvrk and Kikos as its creative core. Its early material develops during the first years of activity, and its first performance takes place on New Year’s Eve 2005, establishing the live energy that becomes a regular part of the band’s shows.

Early activity and live work

After its first concert, M.O.R.T. performs several times in Sinj, Imotski and Zagreb over the following years. The band records promotional material in 2007, then returns to more serious work in summer 2009, when it enters another creative phase that continues for some time. From then on it plays a number of concerts across Dalmatia.

Festivals, demos and competition success

M.O.R.T. appears at the SARS 2010 festival in Sinj, where it supports Dubioza kolektiv, and also reaches the semi-finals of HGF, Open Air and Brucošijada Filozofskog fakulteta in 2011. During this period it records several demo tracks selected from a large amount of original material. In 2012 the band continues to perform regularly, reaches the finals of SRF and HR demo klub, and records its first complete demo album, Vrhunsko dno. In summer 2013 it wins Jelen Demofest in Banja Luka, a major regional festival for demo bands.
