Moody gowns

Moody Gowns are a British art-pop and rock band formed in 2008 by Nathan Moseley. Their songs often take on topical subjects, with lyrics about everyday irritation, family tension, sex, religion and money. Examples include “Misery Guts”, which focuses on a bus driver’s refusal to smile, “Stepmother”, about the difficulty of being a new arrival in a close household, “Dreaming”, “Don’t Let The Church Stop You” and “Mr. Money”.

The band is described as using dry wit, light cynicism and a self-aware approach, while also drawing comparisons with acts such as The Divine Comedy, Ian Dury and The Blockheads, Stanley Holloway, Talking Heads, Eels, The Fall and Mr Bungle.
