Mongrel

Mongrel is a United States punk and metal group formed in 2003 and associated with horror punk and metal. The name is used by several different acts, but this entry refers to the Eastern Massachusetts band that develops a metal- and hard-rock-influenced punk sound.

Line-up and formation

The band forms in Eastern Massachusetts in 2003. Its line-up includes vocalist Jessica Sierra, guitarist Adam Savage, bassist Rev and drummer Dave K.

Releases

Mongrel’s album Fear, Lies, and Propaganda is re-released in 2008 on Screaming Ferret Records. In 2009 the band releases the EP Revenge on Immolation Records. After the group parts ways with its long-time male singer in 2010, it works with Jessica Sierra and records and releases the EP The New Breed of Old School in September 2010 and Declamation in May 2011. The full-length album Reclamation follows later in 2011.

Live activity and associations

The band tours extensively across the United States and shares stages with a wide range of metal and punk acts, including Fear, The Misfits, GWAR, Korn, Sepultura, Otep, Fu Manchu, Blitzkid, Dizzy Reed of Guns N' Roses, The Exploited and Prong.
