Mitzi

Mitzi is an Australian electronic group made up of Dominiqe Bird and Jad Lee. The act forms in 2010 and brings together members who have previously played in several other bands, including BMX, Comic Sans, Charlie Why! and The Gallery Kiss.

Style and sound

The group’s music sits across electropop, house, disco and electronic styles. Their sound is described through smooth, warm production, classic pop writing, moving disco rhythms, syncopated guitar, bass-led grooves, laidback vocals and analogue-style warmth.

Releases and label work

Mitzi releases its debut EP, All I Heard, through Sydney label Future Classic.

Live activity

The group performs at festivals including Parklife and Stereosonic. It also supports artists such as Metronomy, Neon Indian, Little Dragon, Bag Raiders and The Swiss.

Earlier projects

Before Mitzi, the members are involved in BMX, which wins an Unearthed Parklife competition in 2009; Comic Sans, which wins the 2010 Unearthed St Jerome’s Laneway competition; Charlie Why!, associated with Bang Gang 12 Inches; and The Gallery Kiss.
