Mini Viva
Mini Viva are a British dance-pop group from the United Kingdom, active from 2008 to 2010. The act is a duo made up of singers Frankee Connolly and Britt Love.
Career
The group forms in London in 2008 and builds its profile through a run of singles produced and written with established pop figures. Their debut single, Left My Heart in Tokyo, is produced by Xenomania, the production team behind work with Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Kylie Minogue. The track also carries writing credits from Annie and Fred Falke. It receives strong critical attention and reaches number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in 2009.
The follow-up single, I Wish, also draws favourable reactions from critics and bloggers but does not chart as strongly. A third single, One Touch, first performed live under the title Do You Wana Candy, later appears in 2010 and does not reach the UK top 100, even though it is often described as the duo’s strongest single.
Live work and split
Mini Viva support The Saturdays on the Work Tour in 2009. In 2010 they perform at smaller venues, take on DJ work and support Diversity. Later in 2010, Britt Love says the duo is no longer together, and plans for a long-delayed debut album are cancelled.
