Milk Kan
Milk Kan is a British group that begins as a two-piece in 2003, formed by Scrappy Hood and Jimmy Blade. The pair busks in London on trains, tubes and late-night buses, using borrowed guitars before moving into live work in New York City and later returning to London.
Early activity
The group records a bedroom-made debut in 2004. After that release, it shifts from busking to playing open-mic venues on the Lower East Side of New York City before returning to London.
Record labels and releases
Milk Kan signs to PIAS Records after returning to London, then later signs to the east London independent label BLANG in 2007. Its debut album is scheduled for release in March 2009.
Style and description
The group is described as mixing punk with urban-poetic and street-level elements, and is tagged as British, punk, jazz, rock and UK.
