Mike Viola

Mike Viola is an American singer-songwriter, musician and producer, born in 1966. He works in rock, power pop and garage rock, and is known for both his own songs and his production work for other artists.

Early career and bands

Viola begins his career in the mid-1990s as the musical architect of the New York-based band Candy Butchers. The group releases three albums on RPM/Sony Records before he shifts his focus towards production. He is also associated with The Major Labels.

Production and songwriting

As a producer, Viola works with J.S. Ondara, Mandy Moore, Panic! At The Disco, Andrew McMahon, New Politics, Fall Out Boy, Ryan Adams and Jenny Lewis. He is described as Grammy-nominated and also serves as vice-president of A&R for Verve Records, which is part of Universal Music Group. His recorded work appears on the soundtracks for Get Him to the Greek, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and That Thing You Do!.
