Middleman

Middleman is a Leeds-based UK rap rock band active since 2006. The group performs as a four-piece and comes from the alternative rock and rap rock scene.

Style and live approach

The band’s music centres on heavy bass, sharp lyrics and an energetic live show. Their focus is on gigs, dancing, friendship and the music itself.

Releases and early attention

Middleman first issues a home-produced three-song demo that it self-releases in late 2006. The band then returns to the studio and releases its debut single through Bad Sneakers Records, an independent label that also works with Wild Beasts, The Sugars, The Acutes and The Rosie Taylor Project.

Airplay and recognition

The group receives support from Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1, helping to build its profile after its early releases.
