Middle Finger Salute

Middle Finger Salute is a punk group from Blackburn, United Kingdom, active from 2005 to 2014. The band forms in late 2005 when its members are just 14 and 15, and it develops as a melodic punk and punk rock act.

Career

Middle Finger Salute plays with a number of established punk acts, including Stiff Little Fingers, The Buzzcocks, Rancid and the Misfits. In early 2007, the band begins its first UK tour as part of the Easter Punk Feast annual tour, appearing alongside Angelic Upstarts and The Vibrators. At that point, it is the youngest band ever to take part in the tour, with members aged 16 and 17.

Over the following years, the group becomes a regular act at Rebellion festival in the UK and Europe. It also performs at Punk and Disorderly in Berlin in 2009, and later appears at SXSW in the United States. In 2009, Middle Finger Salute plays the East Coast leg of the Vans Warped Tour, alongside a small number of other UK bands including Gallows and The Blackout. The band returns to the Vans Warped Tour in 2010 for a longer run and appears on the official Warped Tour compilation CDs for both 2009 and 2010.
