Michael Palmer

Michael Palmer is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall vocalist, also known as Palmer Dog. He is born in 1960 and is associated with Kingston. He becomes a well-known figure in the early and mid-1980s dancehall and reggae scene, and his singing covers both digitised dancehall rhythms and smoother lovers rock.

Career

Palmer releases Lick Shot in 1982 and records a number of albums for Channel One in the mid-1980s. He works with producers including Prince Jammy, Jah Thomas and George Phang. His output also includes Star Performer, Pull It Up Now, Sweet Daddy and We Rule.

Collaborations and combination albums

He records several combination albums with other artists. These include Showdown Vol 4 with Frankie Jones, Double Trouble with Frankie Paul, Wicked with Johnny Osbourne, Michael Palmer Meets Kelly Ranks At Channel One with Kelly Ranks, and Joint Favourites with Half Pint. A longer-running collaboration with Triston Palma appears on Triston Palma Meets Michael Palmer, which is listed with recordings from 1982 to 1984.
