Miaoux Miaoux

Miaoux Miaoux is the recording name of Julian Corrie, a musician from Nottingham, born in 1985. He is based in Glasgow and works in electronica, with the bio also describing his music as drawing on post-rock, breakbeat and melody.

Career and recordings

Corrie releases music under his own Koshka Records label. His album Rainbow Bubbles is described as his debut and as featuring a mix of electronica, post-rock and melody. The record includes tracks such as the title track, Harbour Lights, Cherry Blossom Traffic, I am a Microbe and Osaka Switch, with the music using guitar lines, sinewaves, drum breaks and vocoders.

Style and collaborations

The music is associated with artists such as Four Tet, Tortoise and Aphex Twin. Corrie also works on remixes, including versions for Errors, The Royal We and Zoey Van Goey, and an unofficial techno reworking of Dizzee Rascal's Pussyole (Oldskool).

Live work and Franz Ferdinand

Miaoux Miaoux is noted for live performances that differ from the common stereotype of electronica acts. In 2017, Corrie joins Franz Ferdinand as a keyboard and synthesizer player, alongside Dino Bardot.
