Meursault

Meursault are a Scottish band from Edinburgh, in the United Kingdom, led by songwriter Neil Pennycook. The group’s line-up includes Peter Harvey and Neil Pennycook.

Style and activity

The band is associated with folk, electronic rock, indie rock, lo-fi, folk punk and punk, and their performances range from a full-band sound to a more spare set-up with Neil Pennycook performing solo or as part of a duo. They are described as an active and shifting project rather than a fixed format.

Releases

Meursault release material originally through Song, By Toad Records and later on Common Grounds Records. Their albums include Pissing On Bonfires / Kissing With Tongues, All Creatures Will Make Merry, Something for the Weakened, I Will Kill Again, Crow Hill and Meursault. Alongside these albums, they also issue a number of EPs and singles.
