Messy

Messy is a name used for more than one project. One is a Netherlands-based act active since 1985, associated with Alex, who works across collages, sculptures, photographs, paintings, videos and music. The music is described as ranging from noise to more melodic and dance-oriented material, and the project is linked with the idea of “Messy vocal magic”.

A second Messy project appears in 2000, when Jessicka Addams, known for Jack Off Jill and Scarling., works with Kevin Haskins, known for Bauhaus and Love & Rockets. This version of Messy releases one song, “Make You Believe”, which appears on the Cleopatra Records compilations Unquiet Grave III and A Taste of Sin.

The music is tagged as experimental, glitch and noise, with ambient also associated with the name.
