Meli'sa Morgan is an American R&B singer from Queens, United States, associated with contemporary R&B, quiet storm and smooth soul. She begins her solo career in 1985 with a cover of Prince’s “Do Me Baby”, which reaches number one on the R&B chart.
Career
Before her solo work, Morgan is a member of the groups Shades of Love and High Fashion. Her early solo recordings are issued on Capitol between 1985 and 1987, during which she lands two more Top Ten R&B singles with “Do You Still Love Me?” and “If You Can Do It: I Can Too!”. She later moves to Arista.
Her duet with Kashif, “Love Changes”, becomes another R&B hit and reaches number two. In 1990, she releases The Lady In Me, which gives her a Top 40 R&B hit with the New Jack Swing track “Can You Give Me What I Want”.
Morgan moves to Pendulum in 1992 and releases Still in Love With You. After a lengthy break, she returns with her sixth album, I Remember..., which includes the Quiet Storm radio hits “I Remember”, “High Maintainance” and a version of “Back Together Again” as a duet with Freddie Jackson. She continues to record and tour.
