Maxi Priest is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent from Lewisham, United Kingdom. Born in 1961, he performs under the stage name Maxi Priest; his full name is Max Alfred Elliott.

His music combines reggae with R&B influences and is often described as reggae fusion. He is recognised as one of the first international artists to gain significant success in this style, and he remains one of its most successful performers.
