Mark Owen is a British singer-songwriter from Oldham, Lancashire, England, born in 1972. He is a member of Take That, the boy band he joins in 1990, leaves in 1996, and re-joins when the group reforms in 2005.

Solo career

After Take That split, Owen becomes the third former member of the group to issue a solo record. His debut single, Child, reaches number three in the UK Singles Chart, and Clementine also reaches number three. Green Man follows in 1997 and charts at number 33. Another single, I Am What I Am, reaches number 29, after which he is dropped by BMG Records later that year.

In 2003, after appearing on stage with Robbie Williams at Knebworth, he signs to Island/Universal Records. Four Minute Warning returns him to the Top 5 in August 2003 and stays in the Top 40 for eight weeks. His second album, In Your Own Time, enters the chart at number 59, and its second single, Alone Without You, reaches number 26. He is then dropped by Island/Universal Records.

He sets up his own record company, Sedna Records, in April 2004. His third solo album, How the Mighty Fall, is released in 2005 and is recorded at Sunset Studios in Los Angeles in 2004. In February 2006 he releases Hail Mary as a single from the album.
