Mark Morriss is a singer-songwriter from Hounslow, United Kingdom, and the frontman and lead singer of The Bluetones. He is also the older brother of bassist Scott Morriss.

Career

He is best known for his work with The Bluetones, an English band associated with alternative rock, britpop and indie rock. The band releases five albums and two best-of compilations, and has a run of top 40 singles. Morriss is part of the group’s long-term line-up, and the band is noted for having continued beyond the main Britpop period.

Solo work and side projects

Morriss releases his debut solo album, Memory Muscle, in 2008. The record has a gentler, folk-tinged sound and includes four re-recorded tracks that first appear under the name Fi-Lo Beddow on an EP released in 2006. The album’s string arrangements are by David Arnold, who is also known for his work as a composer on the James Bond films.
