Mark Mac is a member of 4hero, an electronic music group from Dollis Hill in northwest London. The group consists of producers Mark “Marc Mac” Clair and Dennis “Dego” McFarlane, and it is commonly referred to as “4 Hero” or “4-Hero”, although it uses the name “4hero” on its own albums and websites.

4hero is known as an early pioneer of breakbeat hardcore and drum and bass. The group receives a Mercury Music Prize nomination for its 1998 album Two Pages. Its 2007 album Play with the Changes moves into downtempo and nu jazz. Marc Mac and Dego continue to record as 4hero and also work under a range of other aliases developed over the years.
