Mammal Hands are a contemporary jazz group from Norwich, United Kingdom, active since 2012. The band consists of Jesse Barrett, Jordan Smart and Nick Smart.

Line-up and background

Jordan Smart and Nick Smart are brothers. Before forming Mammal Hands, they play together as an electronica duo. Jesse Barrett joins them in 2012, and the trio develops a bassless sound.

Musical style

The group’s music draws on jazz, instrumental music, electronic music, contemporary classical music and world music. Jordan Smart plays saxophone, Nick Smart plays piano, and Jesse Barrett plays drums and tabla.
