Mama Kin
Mama Kin is the stage name of Danielle Caruana, an Australian singer and songwriter based between Melbourne and Perth. She works in hard rock, glam rock and folk-inflected soul, and is associated with a raw, rootsy style that draws on rhythm, melody and strong vocal performance.
Music and releases
Her debut album is Beat and Holler, which includes the single To My Table. That track features New Orleans-style swamp influences and a driving groove, and is recorded at The Compound in Fremantle. It includes Brother Michael Caruana on piano and wurlitzer, George Servanis on drums and percussion, and producer Tony Buchen on bass.
Another single from the album, Tore My Heart Out, is a melodic song about heartbreak. It is a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and is named Rage indie clip of the week and iTunes, Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph single of the week.
