Mal is the stage name of Paul Bradley Couling, also known as Mal Ryder, a British singer born in 1944 in Cwmbran, United Kingdom, and popular in Italy. He sings with the band The Primitives, and is also associated with Mal Ryder & The Spirits.

He gains recognition in Italy in the late 1960s as a singer with Mal and the Primitives. The name Mal is also attached to several other acts in different genres and countries, including an electronic producer, a California dark new wave and post-punk band that later becomes the Phantom Surfers, a London funk, soul and acid jazz group active in the 1990s, an underground hip-hop MC from Oklahoma, a three-piece band from La Plata in Argentina, a French black metal and funeral doom band, and a Kosovo singer who wins Festivali i Këngës 2023.
