Maidavale

Maidavale is a Swedish all-female four-piece psychedelic and experimental rock band. The group is made up of Sofia Ström on guitar, Matilda Roth on vocals, Johanna Hansson on drums and Linn Johannesson on bass.

Releases and sound

The band releases Tales of the Wicked West, its debut album, in 2016 and follows it with Madness Is Too Pure in 2018. That second album is produced by Jari Haapalainen and shows a more experimental and dynamic approach to the band’s sound. In 2024 the band releases Sun Dog.

Reception and activity

Maidavale develops a reputation for its musicianship and for the strong connection it creates between performers and audience. After its debut, the band tours Europe extensively and becomes established as one of the more prominent acts in the newer wave of psychedelic rock.

Recognition

The band is nominated for the Swedish music prize P3 Guld in the rock/metal category in 2018.
