Mad Sin

Mad Sin is a German psychobilly band from Berlin, active since 1987. The group is founded by Köfte DeVille, who remains the constant member while the lineup changes over time. Other members associated with the band include Stein and Holly Burnette, along with Rob Raw, Tex Morton, Hellvis, Valle, Mad Pete 1, Matt V, Peter Hajunga and Andy Laaf.

Style and early activity

The band’s music is rooted in psychobilly and also draws on punk metal, with prominent growls and screams. In its early years, the group plays in Berlin with help from friends who arrange gigs in bars. It also performs as street musicians in shopping malls, playing rockabilly, country and blues songs to raise money.

Related projects

DeVille also forms Dead Kings, a side project that includes members of Batmobile, Nekromantix, Klingonz and Milwaukee Wildmen. Stein later joins the United Swindlers, alongside members of Frantic Flintstones and Ripmen.
