Mac Lethal is a hip hop artist from Kansas City, United States. He begins as a battle rapper and gains early attention through Scribble Jam, a freestyle battle festival. He then develops a solo style built around self-released songs and albums, with an emphasis on unusual wordplay and a quirky approach to rap.

Career

He draws notice from artists including Sage Francis, P.O.S and Atmosphere, and tours with them. His work is rooted in battle rap but moves into song-based recording, challenging the idea that battle rappers cannot make full albums. His label home is Black Clover Records, which he owns and operates.

Recordings and releases

Black Clover Records releases his self-issued Love Potion Collection CDs, volumes 1 to 5, as well as The Original 11:11 Sessions. He also releases 11:11 through Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2007, and this is commonly regarded as his debut album.
