LUVcat

LUVcat is a Liverpool-born British solo artist associated with indie pop, indie rock and dark cabaret. Born in 1996, she builds a character-driven image around travel, performance and romantic storytelling.

Background

According to her account, she leaves Liverpool for a Parisian circus as a teenager and spends many years there working as a magician’s assistant, performing in costumes of feathers, silks and sequins. After a trick goes wrong, she says she makes a final escape and travels by train to London, where she returns to society.

LUVcat begins writing songs about her travels and the lovers and libertines she meets along the way. She cites Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and The Cure as influences, drawing on their dark and playful approach to romance.
