Lostprophets are a rock band from Pontypridd, Wales, active from 1997 to 2013. They form around vocalist Ian Watkins and guitarist Lee Gaze after the dissolution of their earlier band, Fleshbind. The original line-up also includes drummer Mike Chiplin, rhythm guitarist Mike Lewis, bassist Stu Richardson, and Jamie Oliver, who plays turntables and keyboards.

Career

Lostprophets release five studio albums: The Fake Sound of Progress in 2000, Start Something in 2004, Liberation Transmission in 2006, The Betrayed in 2010, and Weapons in 2012. The band sell approximately 3.5 million albums worldwide. Their best-known singles include “Last Train Home” and “Rooftops”, both of which reach the UK singles top ten. “Last Train Home” also reaches number one on the US Alternative Songs chart.

Line-up changes

Mike Chiplin leaves the band in 2005. Ilan Rubin replaces him on drums from 2006 to 2009, and Luke Johnson later takes over. The listed members also include Mike Chiplin, Lee Gaze, Mike Lewis, Ian Watkins, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver, Ilan Rubin, and Luke Johnson.

Recognition and end of the band

Lostprophets receive several Kerrang! awards and nominations during their career. The band cancel scheduled tour dates after criminal charges are brought against Watkins in December 2012, and they formally disband in October 2013 before the end of his trial. In June 2014, the remaining members form No Devotion with American singer Geoff Rickly.
