Loose Lips

Loose Lips is a group from the United States. The name is used by several different acts, including American punk and punk rock’n’roll outfits, a British folk band, and a British punk band, but the entry here refers to the U.S. group associated with Steve Buckley.

Background

One American incarnation of Loose Lips comes from south San Francisco, California and forms from the remains of The Infections around 1998. Another is a punk band formed in Chicago in 1979, with Gary Ritchie and Jeff King alongside Richie Mayer on guitar and vocals and Danny Welch on bass and vocals. That Chicago group releases Hung Up On Pop in 1980 and goes its separate ways in the mid-1980s.

Other acts with the same name

Loose Lips also appears as a band featuring Anthony Middleton, Luca Saporito and Scarlett Etienne, as well as a British folk band from Manchester with Helen Watson, Michael Parker and Nick Prater. Another British punk band under the same name comprises Jason Barker, Sam Perkins and Matt Don.
