Loose Fit

Loose Fit is a Sydney group active since 2018. The band starts with fashion school friends Kaylene Milner and Anna Langdon, who first connect over a shared interest in experimental music. After early low-fi bedroom recordings, they bring in Max Edgar on guitar and Richard Martin on bass and begin working as a full band.

Milner plays drums, while Langdon handles saxophone and vocals. Their sound is rhythm-led and draws on post-punk, no wave, electronic music, funk and house, with references to UK post-punk acts such as Public Image Ltd, Maximum Joy and A Certain Ratio. Their influences also include the US no wave scene, particularly James Chance and Bush Tetras, alongside Talking Heads and the B-52’s. More recent touchstones include Exploded View, The Native Cats, Raime and Nisennenmondai.

Loose Fit also stay closely linked to their local scene and share bills with acts including Exek, Tropical Fuck Storm, Party Dozen, Pinch Points and Negative Gears.
