LoneLady

LoneLady is the performance name of Julie Campbell, a musician, songwriter and producer from Ashton-under-Lyne in Manchester. She is signed to Warp and works in a post-punk and indie context, with influences that include Gang Of Four, Wire, Cabaret Voltaire and A Certain Ratio.

Albums and singles

Her debut album, Nerve Up, is released to critical acclaim in 2010. Two singles follow from it: Immaterial and Intuition, both on Warp. Her second album, Hinterland, appears in 2015 and draws on psychogeography, dance and funk. The album receives strong critical response, including praise from The Quietus and NME.

Four singles are released from Hinterland, and all reach the BBC 6 Music A-Playlist. Among them, Groove It Out appears on 12-inch and download with a remix by Ekoplekz, while Bunkerpop appears on 12-inch and download with a remix by Wrangler.
