Liv Warfield is an American soul and R&B singer, songwriter and performer, born in 1979 and originally from the United States. She is also associated with Roadcase Royale.

Career

Warfield begins performing on the Portland music scene in 2002, after first working with the hip-hop group Money N’ Lovin’. She then appears in a showcase with Nashville keyboardist Joey Porter and his soul-jazz group Silky. In 2004, she fronts her own group, Liv & The Warfield Project.

Style and influences

Her music combines soul with rock, gospel-leaning performance, acoustic rock, blues and rhythm and blues. She is described as a self-trained singer and songwriter whose live performances are marked by intense, soulful delivery. Her influences include Roy Ayers, Donny Hathaway and Curtis Mayfield, along with Etta James, Patti LaBelle and Tina Turner.

Release

Warfield releases her debut album, Embrace Me, in 2006.
