Linea

Linea is an Italian alternative combat rock band from Milano. The group later also works from Madison, Wisconsin, and has previously been based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It combines dissonance, aggression and classically influenced melodies with eccentric, bombastic drum patterns.

Formation and line-up

Linea mainly operates as a two-piece, with Jose Padilla Miró on guitar, keyboards and vocals, and Denis Hart on drums. Earlier, it is a three-piece group with Jose Padilla Miró, his brother Joaquin on bass, and Arturo Izquierdo on drums. Jose Padilla Miró remains the only constant member.

Activity and releases

After Denis Hart leaves for France, the band goes on indefinite hiatus. Jose Padilla Miró later revives the project after releasing a solo record, playing bass for the death metal band Betray the Pharaoh and starting Bananarchy. He then self-releases an album built around songs written as far back as 2007. The album is titled no te pierdas, es allá, sin tropezar por favor.

Style

Linea’s music is described as quieter than its earlier material, but it keeps a strong melodic focus and continues to pair melody with a challenging edge.
