Lewis McLaughlin

Lewis McLaughlin is a Scottish singer-songwriter from Edinburgh and Glasgow, born in 2000, and based in Glasgow. His music sits within indie pop, indie folk and folk pop, with the added context of a background in folk performance.

Career

Before working as a solo artist, McLaughlin performs in a range of settings across Europe. He accompanies his father at folk shows and also plays with his brother in a folk duo before going solo.

Recognition and releases

He wins the Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition in 2022. In the same year, he is nominated for a SAMA award in the Best Acoustic category and for a Scots Trad Awards prize in the Up and Coming Artist of the Year category. His debut album is released in 2022.
