Letlive

Letlive is an experimental post-hardcore band from Los Angeles, United States, active from 2002 to 2017. The group includes vocalist Jason Aalon Butler, guitarists Jean Nascimento and Jeff Sahyoun, bassist Ryan Jay Johnson and drummers Anthony Rivera and Loniel Robinson, with former members also including Alex Haythorn, Christian Johansen, Ben Sharp, Adam Castle and Kenji Chan.

Background and style

The band works across post-hardcore, hardcore punk, alternative rock, emo, indie rock, progressive hardcore and experimental rock. Butler is the only remaining founding member. The lineup also includes guitarist Jean Francisco Nascimento and bassist Ryan Jay Johnson.

Releases

Letlive releases its debut EP, Exhaustion, Salt Water, and Everything in Between, in 2003, followed by its first full-length album, Speak Like You Talk, in 2005. Its third album, Fake History, comes out in 2010 and is later reissued on Epitaph in 2011, when it receives critical praise and is included in Rock Sound's 101 Modern Classics. The band records its third album, The Blackest Beautiful, with Anthony Rivera on drums; Rivera leaves after the recording is completed, and Loniel Robinson later joins as drummer.
