Lee Mitchell

Lee Mitchell is a singer-songwriter from Northern Ireland who has been active since 2004. He comes from Bangor, a town in north-east Northern Ireland with a strong record of producing artists such as Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club, Duke Special, Foy Vance and Van Morrison.

Career

Mitchell builds his career through self-booked touring rather than waiting for wider recognition. He tours across Europe on his own, with shows in Holland, Germany, France and Austria, and develops an international audience through those performances. After gaining experience touring abroad, he also begins to draw interest in Northern Ireland.

He supports a range of acts including Jamie Woon, Joan as Policewoman, Ane Brun, Tilly and the Wall, Josh Doyle of The Dum Dums, The Departure, Ella Edmundson and Joey Cape.

Recordings

As demand for recordings grows, Mitchell enters the studio to make his first EP. He describes the songs on Whisky and Water as dealing with trial, error, hardship, good experiences and hope, while also presenting them as a set of simple songs. He has previously sold demos to fans while gigging and says he wants to release material he is properly proud of.

Whisky is the first of two EPs he releases in the same period, followed by Water.
