LED

LED is a shoegaze band from Easton, Pennsylvania. The core members are Luid Astute and Izzy Izix, with touring musicians joining the live lineup. Astute handles vocals, lyrics and creative direction, while Izix is responsible for composition, production and instrumentation.

Music and style

The group is associated with shoegaze and nugaze, and their work is usually distortion-heavy. Their songs often appear as linked storylines spread across multiple singles, with narrative detail carried in track descriptions. Their early attention comes through a run of shoegaze and nugaze tracks, some of which are originally created by the artist flyingfish.

Releases

LED releases singles as well as EPs and albums. Their most popular track, “myocarditis,” uses the instrumental from flyingfish’s “wonder if you care,” and the two songs appear in the same week. They also release two EPs: Lilac, the first project to feature Izzy Izix as a collaborator and producer, and If, before you leave?, a full dual release between LED and Izzy Izix. Their only full-length album, shitpost, is an acoustic record and stands apart from their usual sound.
