Le Boom
Le Boom is an Irish group associated with indie, pop, electronic and house music. The name is used for two separate acts. One version centres on Chris and Aimie, two Irish friends who form the project in June 2016 and play electro-indie-house-pop with a live setup built around glass-bottle beats, layered loops and vocal hooks. That act performs in Ireland and the United States, including shows in New York, Reykjavik, Cork, Belfast, Galway and Dublin. Its only release, What We Do, receives airplay on US and Irish radio and appears in television and advertising campaigns, including one for Absolut Vodka.
The other Le Boom is an indie band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2004 by singer and songwriter Maylyn Martinez after she and lead guitarist Kyle Loving leave Doozer. The lineup is completed by bass player Dave F. Moore and drummer Tyler Dokken. That band releases its first album, Got It Tied, in 2004 and receives a Critic’s Choice endorsement from Westword. It also plays widely in Colorado and beyond, with a notable performance at Denver’s Gothic Theater that is filmed and broadcast on Denver’s Heartbeat.
