Lazlo is Paul Hézard, a French electronic music producer from Marseille, associated with electro-swing and related electronic styles.

He grows up listening to Duke Ellington, Stevie Wonder and Django Reinhardt, and those influences shape his approach to music. From his earliest work through to his minimal electro-swing productions, he aims to pay tribute to older recordings and ideas by drawing on melodies and sounds from the classic music catalogue.

His work combines vintage swing elements with electronic beats and bass lines, and he draws on a wide range of styles including soul, jazz, reggae, funk, hip hop, blues and pop. He is also influenced by French electronic music scenes, including deep-house, dub-step, trip-hop and minimal techno, which helps place his sound within the development of electro-swing.

His first album reflects a particular focus on swing and jazz, while also showing that this is only one part of his musical range.
