Krust is the performance name of Kirk Thompson, a UK drum and bass DJ and producer from Bristol, England. He is associated with the Bristol-based Reprazent collective and releases solo material under his own name and as DJ Krust.

Career

Krust emerges from the Bristol drum and bass and jungle scene and is linked to the development of a more streamlined sound in the mid-1990s. His track “Warhead” becomes one of his best-known releases and is remixed several times by Krust and by other artists. Another notable 1990s release is “Angles”, issued in 1996 on V Recordings.

Albums and labels

His first solo album, Coded Language, is released on Talkin’ Loud in 1999. A second album, Hidden Knowledge, follows in 2006 on Full Cycle Records. Full Cycle Records is one of the key labels associated with his work.
