Kokiri is the performing name of Kevin Williams, an English electronic artist from Liverpool. He makes vocal house and dance music with an upbeat, full-bodied sound and melodic basslines.
Williams begins producing as an adolescent, inspired by the UK hardcore and drum and bass records played by his older brother. He becomes interested in making music after learning that one track is recorded in a bedroom rather than a professional studio, which shows him that electronic music can be made with minimal means.
After more than a decade developing his sound, he breaks through with “Turn Back Time (Retrospect)”, a 2015 single issued by Ministry of Sound in the UK and Big Beat/Atlantic in the US. He then releases tracks on labels including Love & Other, Perfect Havoc and Armada Music.
His releases from 2016 and 2017 include “Harmony”, a collaboration with Adam F, “Energy”, a collaboration with A-Minor, and the solo tracks “Chasing” and “Other Side of Love”. His commissioned work also includes remixes for Marshmello, Jessie Ware, Naughty Boy and Craig David. He also curates a biweekly Spotify playlist called Opia, featuring music he is listening to and playing in his sets.
