Kofi B
Kofi B, born Kofi Boakye Yiadom, is a Ghanaian highlife musician. He dies on 2 February 2020. He grows up in a poor family and sells goods on the street as a child. His father dies when he is five. Although he wants to be a lawyer, he becomes involved in music, which he sees as something he enters by chance.
Career and musical background
He works in the highlife tradition and counts Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah and the late Opampuo among his musical inspirations. He is also closely associated with All4Real, who help him significantly in his career. Together they release an album, and All4Real also produce some of his music.
Known songs
Kofi B is remembered for songs including “Mmbrowa”, “Bantama Kofi Boakye” and “Koforidua Flowers”. Other popular tracks associated with him include “Twa me keke”, “Aserewa”, “Sika dwa”, “Belinda” and “Akua Ataa”.
