Kip Moore
Kip Moore is an American country music singer and songwriter from Tifton, Georgia. Born in 1980, he spends eight years in Nashville before signing to MCA Nashville, where he releases four studio albums: Up All Night, Wild Ones, Slowheart and Wild World.
Recording career
Moore's first single, "Mary Was the Marrying Kind", reaches number 45 on the Billboard country singles chart. His second single, "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck", follows in 2011 and later reaches number one on the Billboard country charts. It appears on his debut album Up All Night, released in 2012, which he co-writes in full and which is produced by Brett James. The album also includes "Beer Money" and "Hey Pretty Girl", both of which reach the country Top 5. Up All Night becomes the most commercially successful debut album by a country male artist in 2012 and 2013.
Moore's charting singles also include four other Top 10 hits, giving him 12 entries on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay. In 2013 he announces "Young Love" as his fifth single; it reaches number 22 on Country Airplay in 2014. After "Dirt Road" fails to reach the Top 40, he sets aside the planned second album and writes new material.
He returns in 2015 with "I'm to Blame", the lead single from Wild Ones. In 2017 he issues "More Girls Like You" before announcing the album Slowheart, which is released in 2017. He later releases the acoustic EP Room to Spare: The Acoustic Sessions in 2018, a seven-track set featuring acoustic versions and new material including "Tennessee Boy", an acoustic version of "Plead the Fifth", and "It Ain't California". In 2019 he releases "She's Mine", a song he has written more than a decade earlier, and in 2020 he releases the title track from Wild World ahead of the album's release. Wild World contains 13 tracks, 12 of which are co-written by Moore.
Songwriting and collaborators
Alongside his own recordings, Moore writes for other country acts. His credits include tracks for Thompson Square, James Wesley and Frankie Ballard. For Thompson Square's self-titled debut album, he co-writes "All the Way" and "Let's Fight", with the latter serving as their debut single. He also co-writes James Wesley's 2012 single "Walking Contradiction" and Frankie Ballard's 2016 single "Cigarette".
