Kelly Woods
Kelly Woods is a London-based singer and solo artist who moves across trip hop, R&B, classical music and house. She begins performing at a young age, appearing on stage at Wembley as a child and later singing solo with a full gospel choir. She also performs at the Royal Albert Hall for the Gospel Arts Festival and appears in choirs at venues across England.
After this choral background, she is accepted into the Brit School to study musical theatre and plays Diana Morales in A Chorus Line. She then moves into popular music and, in 2004, relocates to London to study for a Bachelor of Music at Vocaltech, where she develops skills in composition and music technology and meets other musicians.
Woods works on a range of projects as both a soloist and backing singer. Her collaborators include Brian Eno and Damon Albarn. She is also known for bringing a DJ-based approach into live performance, using samples, live looping and band arrangements to create different live formats. The songs associated with her EP include Rise Up, Music is My Soul, Feel Alone and Your Devotion.
